Our new facility showcases advanced Finnish material technology expertise and creates local job opportunities.
The test line is a significant step for Fiberwood towards a commercial phase and scaling up production. The goal is to finalise product concepts, ensure industrial scalability and accelerate R&D activities.
“We have several product development projects underway with strategic customers. The new test line in Järvenpää is a cornerstone of our future, enabling us to produce fully market-compatible products for these customer projects,” describes CEO Tage Johansson.
The choice of Järvenpää as the test line’s location is no coincidence. According to Johansson, the town’s strategic location and the skilled workforce available in the surrounding area were decisive factors. Initially, the facility employs just over ten people, which is expected to double over the next year.

A Zero-Emission, Waste-Free Production Process
Fiberwood is dedicated to sustainability throughout both the construction and daily operation of the test line. The factory roof is equipped with solar panels, and the facility prioritises producing materials from industrial by-products without relying on fossil-based resources.
The production process generates no odours or emissions – and no waste, as everything can be recycled. Any surplus materials can be composted.
Fiberwood, established in 2019, is committed to advancing sustainable and ecological construction and packaging. The company has developed a technology and production process to produce circular, fossil-free insulation and packaging materials from forestry side streams and other natural fibres.
Our products offer eco-friendly, recyclable and resource-efficient alternatives to traditional mineral wool-based insulation and cellular plastic-based packaging cushioning. Additionally, we enable the use of sustainable products in entirely new applications.
