Fiberwood is currently building its demo machine in Järvenpää, which is a significant milestone for the company. The machine will operate at a scale comparable to a future full-scale factory line, serving as the foundation for Fiberwood’s internationally scalable production.
“The demo line is one of the cornerstones of our future. We will use it to manufacture full-size panels for our customers’ various pilot projects, such as test buildings,” says Jari Varjotie, Fiberwood’s Director of Production and Logistics.
Varjotie explains that his team will also use the demo machine to optimise production processes for future factory lines before they start full-scale construction and commissioning. The machine is expected to be completed in autumn 2025, playing a critical role in Fiberwood’s journey towards industrial-scale production.
“With the learnings we will be able to build production facilities around the world quickly and flexibly”, Varjotie adds.
Process expertise as a competitive advantage
Fiberwood is currently running multiple product development projects with both domestic and international customers. The demo machine will enable finalisation of product concepts, accelerate R&D, and ensure the industrial scalability of production.
“At the turn of the year, we made several recruitments to strengthen further our expertise in advanced machinery design, process industry automation, and international production. This investment in process know-how is intentional as we are laying the groundwork to build our future production plants with minimal risk”, Varjotie explains.
